This Washington cabin elopement was held in the gorgeous town of Packwood, Washington right outside of Mt. Rainier. It was so fun because no elopement is the same, each couple brings their own style to their special day and this couple was a perfect match for the location of this shoot. The lush green forests and amazing panoramic views made this elopement so stunning. Plus the moments we were able to capture inside the cabin were so intimate and quiet. We ran into some rain but it was incredible because it gave us a full rainbow which I had never seen one arching from one end to the other before. It was truly magical!
If you are wanting to elope by having a small ceremony; one that will be meaningful for the people in attendance, you can do this at an air bnb—or any other location that speaks to you—it can become an experience you will never forget.
First things first, make sure your venue gets permission from anyone else who might be using it. If you need help finding a location like this Washington cabin, contact an event planner or ask me for recommendations! I’d be happy to help and can offer advice on how best to go about setting up your ceremony at a venue that meets the vibe check you are dreaming up.
Once those details are squared away and everyone has arrived, it’s time for some vows! Some couples choose to do a first look and will often exchange private vows at this time. Others wait and say them during the ceremony in front of everyone. The best part is that you get to choose whatever feels natural during this momentous occasion!
I was a little worried about working in the rain but the gloomy weather made for the perfect moody imagery which has always been my favorite style. The rain created a moody atmosphere, which is something I love to capture because it can really add to the emotions and story being told on your big day. The couple was dressed beautifully and looked so cute together. They were both so sweet and happy!
Gather with Mimi did an immaculate job planning every detail and the vendors brought this vision to life flawlessly! I believe that the success of your event is dependent on how invested you are in the planning process. It goes a long way when you book a planner. If you find the right planner for you, they will ensure everything goes smoothly and that all of your guests have an amazing experience. I will also work closely with you to make sure that your celebration reflects who you are and what’s important to you. We will chat through your vision down to the smallest detail so that when it comes time for your day, all you need to do is show up—and look flawless doing so!
It was such a pleasure documenting this beautiful day for the bride and groom that eloped in this A-frame Washington cabin in the woods. They read their vows privately inside the cabin and oh my goodness it was an emotional moment to capture. They also wanted to document their elopement without any distractions so they could focus on each other and enjoy every moment together. We were able to get some really intimate and special moments captured.
Elopements are intimate, personal celebrations of love and commitment. A wedding doesn’t need to be a big production to be beautiful; elopements can be just as special, if not more so. However, there are still some things that must be considered when planning your own elopement in order to make sure the day goes smoothly.
First and foremost is finding the right photographer for you! This is an important decision because not only will they help document your day but they’ll also become one of your best friends on this journey. Perhaps you’ve already found someone who meets all your criteria and would love nothing more than to capture every moment with their camera, but if not there are many options out there ranging from professional photographers working at larger studios all the way down to people with DSLR’s looking for practice shots outside their house (yes really).
A great way consider these options is by browsing through portfolios online – no matter which type of photography skill level interests you most I guarantee someone has thought about it before (and probably done it well too!).
I can’t explain how much fun I had on this shoot! I hope it inspires couples looking for an elopement option to consider a small, intimate ceremony at a cabin in the woods. It is so worth it.
